Got to go with Lucky 13

SB Nation's March Madness predictions:

West regional
Gonzaga moves into the Sweet 16 after beating Northwestern (which takes down Vanderbilt).
Notre Dame beats Princeton, Bucknell beats West Virginia, Notre Dame moves into the Sweet 16 with a win over Bucknell.

That sounds about right. I have a bet going with a WVU guy. If the Mountaineers win, he donates $5 to Infogalactic. If the Bison win - and everyone knows they are dangerous come Tournament time - he gets the free Castalia ebook of his choice

Bucknell? Maybe... what does she look like?

As a descendant of George Wetzel, brother of Lewis, frontier fighter known to the Indians as "Deathwind", after whom Wetzel County in West Virginia is named I'm naturally obliged to back the Mountaineers. (Good action story, but long. George is mentioned in the first part: capture and escape from the Indians.)

This is the most wide-open tournament I remember. There are 10-15 teams that could easily run the table, or crash and burn in their first or second game. Kentucky always seems to get the hardest bracketing, but it's only marginally harder than everyone else's path this year.

Personally, I think Wichita State has the real claim to "most mistreated" for the year. Eighth in the country is too high a rating, but someone in the top-20 ratings has no business a 10th seed. If they were in any other team's path than UK, I would hope that they would make the Final Four and prove the committee wrong.

As a former Patriot Leaguer myself... Go Bucknell!

hunh.

i think the last time i used a search engine on Lewis, nothing came up. now there's all kinds of stuff.

i nearly picked Bucknell in your honor... but ultimately the 'eers just play a violent brand of basketball that will prove to much for the thinner team.

Also WVU's coach had to get his heart restarted during a game this year and kept coaching.

Arizona all the way! Also look out for UCLA and Oregon...

I don't watch much anymore, but I live near NKU and it's the first trip for the Norsemen to the NCAA tournament where they will likely get spanked by UK. But I got spotted 22 points in a bet with a friend. Two cheese coneys are on the line...

Huggins is the Todd O'Conner of coaches.

"How many heart attacks is that for you Todd?"

"That makes a baker's dozen for me."

Actually, the North Dakota State Bison are in the NIT this year.

And that would be me. :)

I'd like to say WVU is a sure thing but Bucknell is a tough out, and I remember the one and done last year all too well, as well the home losses to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State this year. As last year, WVU can beat anyone and can lose to anyone. This team is better than last year, but can still seem to not show up for games.

It's not like he had a choice in the matter. Supposedly his pacemaker went off when he went into fibrillation.

Vanderbilt over Northwestern, Huggy Bear beats Irish to Sweet 16.

I love UK, but I'd take the other team at +22 any day of the week. This UK team can't seem to get a team up above +15.

WVU held on the a second half lead to beat Bucknell 86-80. That wasn't even close to the spread, but that's the way this team has been all season.

A donation to Infogalactic has been sent via Paypal. Now if they can just beat the F'ing Irish, all will be well. Anything beyond that is gravy.
